General informations

The Paralympic Games are a major international sport event held every four years. It is a set of competitions bringing together athletes with disabilities, whether physical, visual or more recently mental.
There are also Winter Paralympic Games, alternating between two editions of the Summer Games.

The creation of the Paralympic Games dates back to 1960 and they are generally held just after the Olympic Games which, as for them, were revived in their modern format from 1896.

It is only since 1988 that the Paralympic Games were held in the same city as the Olympic Games.

Blind football : a paralympic sport

Blind football has been included in the Summer Paralympic Games since 2004 (Athens). It was a real international recognition of the discipline which allowed its development in the world.
