2020/2021 French national championship B1 of blind football

Due to the COVID 19 health crisis, the 2020/2021 season could not be organized, no games were played during the year. The season is therefore cancelled.

2019/2020 French national championship B1 of blind football

Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, the 2019/2020 season has been declared “blank.” Only three phases could be played. Thus, for reasons of fairness between the teams, the French Blind Football Committee took the decision to cancel all results. A final ranking could not be established due to the low number of matches played.

2018/2019 French national championship B1 of blind football

Mérignac 1 is the national french champion of blind football in B1 category !

Saint-Mandé finishes second after a defeat in the final 3 goals to 1.

Schiltigheim closes the podium and is ranked third !

Results of the previous Paralympic Games

Blind football has been a Paralympic sport since 2004 and the Summer Games in Athens.

Here are the results of the previous editions of blind football paralympics from the most recent to the oldest :

Rio 2016 Paralympic Games

The eight teams in competition were as follows :

  • Brazil
  • Iran
  • Turkey
  • Morocco
  • Argentina
  • China
  • Spain
  • Mexico

The semi-finals pitted Brazil against China and Argentina against Iran.

In the final, Brazil defeated Iran by a score of 1-0.
The third place match will be marked by Argentina‘s penalty shootout victory over China (0-0; 1-0 pso).

  • Gold medal : Brazil
  • Silver medal : Iran
  • Bronze medal : Argentina
  • 4th place : China

In the final, Brazil defeated France by a score of 2-0.
The third-place match was won by Spain on penalties shootout against Argentina (0-0; 1-0 pso).

No semi-finals in this edition. At the end of the preliminary round, the first two participants will play each other in a final and then the participants ranked 3 and 4 will play the bronze medal match.

In the final, Brazil defeated China by a score of 2-1.
The third place match will be marked by Argentina’s penalty shootout victory over Spain (1-1; 1-0 pso).

Here is the final ranking of the 2008 edition of the Paralympic Games:

  • Gold medal : Brazil
  • Silver medal : China
  • Bronze medal : Argentina
  • 4th place : Spain
  • 5th : Great-Britain
  • 6th : Korea

No semi-finals in this edition. At the end of the preliminary round, the first two participants will play each other in a final and then the participants ranked 3 and 4 will play the bronze medal match.

In the final, Brazil defeated Argentina after a penalty shootout : 0-0 ; 3-2 pso.
The match of the third place will be marked by the victory of Spain against Greece with the score of 2-0.
